Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne Pepper has been proved through studies to promote calories burning and suppressing appetite (1).  The main active ingredient in cayenne pepper is capsaicin, and researchers believe that it is a thermogenic chemical that could speed up your metabolism while decreasing your appetite (2). Since the pepper can decrease your appetite, it can lead to a smaller caloric intake and increase weight loss results (2). A study from 2003 found that women who consumed cayenne pepper, their metabolic rate increased for up to 30 minutes after consumption (2). This means that it sped up their body converting food into energy (2). When your metabolism is faster, your body is more likely to convert the food into nutrients and energy rather than stored fat (2).
